Privacy Policy
Introduction
We at Creditlumio take your privacy seriously. This document sets out, in plain English, what information we collect from you when you visit the site, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how to exercise the privacy rights granted to you under applicable law. Reading this policy in full is a good idea — privacy obligations vary by jurisdiction and a few of the choices below are yours to make.
Information We Collect
Our web servers and edge providers automatically receive certain information from your device whenever you request a page on Creditlumio: IP address, request headers (including browser type and accepted languages), the resource requested, and the time of the request. Some of this is stored for a short period in access logs; the rest is processed in memory and discarded.
When you fill in a form on Creditlumio — newsletter signup, contact form, advertise inquiry, unsubscribe page, or any other interactive surface — we collect the information you choose to enter. That typically includes your email address, your message text, and any optional fields you complete. We do not require you to register an account to read the site.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: operate, maintain, and improve the site; deliver newsletter editions and transactional emails you have requested; respond to questions, tips, and corrections; comply with our legal obligations; measure aggregate readership; and detect, prevent, or address technical problems, fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Use. We do not sell your personal information.
Where European data-protection law applies, we rely on the following bases for our processing activities: legitimate interest (for site operation, security, and aggregate analytics); consent (for marketing communications and optional non-essential cookies); contractual necessity (for delivering subscription content you have requested); and legal obligation (for retention of records we are required to keep). You may withdraw consent at any point without affecting prior lawful processing.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files that your browser stores when you visit a website. Creditlumio uses both essential cookies (which the site needs to function) and, with your consent in jurisdictions where consent is required, optional cookies for analytics and advertising. You may decline or delete cookies at any time, although doing so may disable some features. We honor browser-level signals such as Global Privacy Control.
Third-Party Service Providers
We rely on a small set of third-party service providers to operate Creditlumio: a cloud-hosting provider for our servers, a content-delivery network and edge security provider, an email-delivery provider for our newsletter, and an analytics provider for aggregate visitor metrics. Each of these vendors processes data on our behalf under written contractual terms that restrict use of the data to the services we contract for.
Advertising
Where Creditlumio displays advertising — typically through Google AdSense or a similar reputable network — those advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver ads based on previous visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at https://www.google.com/settings/ads and via the industry portals at https://optout.aboutads.info (United States) and https://www.youronlinechoices.com (European Union).
Data Retention
Creditlumio's data-retention practices follow the principle of proportionality. We keep newsletter contacts only while the subscription is active (plus a suppression record after unsubscribe); we keep contact-form messages for up to two years; we keep server logs for up to 90 days; and we delete anything beyond those windows unless we have a specific legal reason to keep it longer.
Your Privacy Rights
Under privacy laws including the GDPR (Europe) and the CCPA / CPRA (California), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to ask us to delete it, to opt out of any sale or sharing of it (we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising), to restrict its use, and to bring a complaint to a regulator. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Contact form below.
Children's Privacy
Our service is intended for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 16, and we will delete any such information we discover. Parents and guardians who believe a child has submitted information to Creditlumio are encouraged to contact us so we can remove it promptly.
International Data Transfers
Operating a web service inherently involves moving data across borders. We may process and store information about you on servers located outside your country of residence, including the United States. When transfers from the EEA, UK, or other restricted jurisdictions occur, we use Standard Contractual Clauses or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms.
Security
Creditlumio takes reasonable measures to safeguard the personal information in our care. Site traffic is encrypted with HTTPS; access to operational systems is restricted to authorized personnel under formal access controls; and we maintain incident-response procedures to act quickly in the event of a security event. While no online system is invulnerable, we treat the security of reader data as a core responsibility.
Changes to This Policy and How to Reach Us
We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy when our practices change or when the law requires it. The current version is always the one published on this page and the "Last updated" date indicates when it took effect. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a right described above, please reach us through the Contact form — that's the canonical channel for privacy correspondence with Creditlumio.
